At a minimum, ensure all videos are auto-captioned. If you have a deaf or hard of hearing student, request professional captions opens a new window. If you have a blind or low vision student, consult with ATI about audio descriptions opens a new window.
At a minimum, use the built-in equation editors for Microsoft 365 and Canvas, as well as HTML-based LaTeX to support students accessing STEM content in formats like MathML, LaTeX, or Braille. Review NCVLC's Accessible Math Guide [DOCX] opens a new window for guidance.
In Canvas, prioritize RED and ORANGE flags. These flags identify barriers that may prevent students with disabilities from fully engaging with the instructional materials. When you have a blind, low vision, deaf, and/or hard of hearing student in your course, work with DS & ATI to ensure all course materials are accessible.

Due to the nature of how some subjects are constructed, even if your course materials pass all of Panorama's accessibility checks, accommodations may still be required. In those instances, consult with Disability Services if you have questions or concerns.
