Web Accessibility Training at Mason

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act includes specific standards for ensuring web accessibility. You can learn to implement these standards through the following workshops, trainings, and courses:

• Web Accessibility (Check the IT Training Website for schedule)
• Mason SkillPort offers information on Dreamweaver and HTML Accessibility Code
• EDSE/EDIT 426 and 526 Web Accessibility and Design (Offered in the Spring & Fall semesters)
• Specific workshops can be designed based upon need, level, and department by contacting the ATI Office.

Web Accessibility Training outside Mason

• The 508 Universe, from Section508.gov offers various trainings based upon background, responsibility and level
• United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) offers free classes throughout the year on various topics of Section 508
• US Dept of Health and Human Services (DHHS) offers classes throughout the year on various topics of Section 508
• United States Access Board occassionally offers free Section 508 courses
• The US Environmental Protection Agency offers free Web Accessibility and Usability courses - please refer to requirements before signing up
